Big news! Mitt Romney has endorsed John McCain. Big surprise, considering how much they have been going at each other throughout the campaign. My impression is that McCain offered something to Romney, something big, and while I don’t know if Romney’s endorsement was a response to this or if it was an attempt to buy McCain’s offer, I still think there are some under-the-table negotiations going on. Possible VP bid? Hmmm…
Obama is now leading on delegates, and it even seems some of the superdelegates formerly loyal to Hillary may be considering jumping ship. He might actually have a better chance than it previously looked. Personally, I think if the Democrats know what they’re doing they will pick Obama over Hillary, just because Obama carries a lot more weight with the independents, the segment most needed for any election. We’ll see how that goes.
